Exploring the Sense of Taste

Taste is the third sense we have focused on so far, and we sure had fun with this one.  I feel like we could spend months on the five senses and not tire of the fun.  Our taste exploration was pretty straight forward.  I put sugar, cocoa powder, salt and lemon slices in dishes for the boys to sample.  I didn't intentionally put the sugar first, but that was how it ended up in front of them.  I think they tasted it more than once.

While the girls were having their nap (and i use that term loosely at the moment!!) i lay some coloured pieces of paper down on our low table and then cut some larger squares of sticky contact paper which i then used to stick the paper smoothly (well some were smooth i promise!) to the table..I filled a basket with some little wooden cubes i had picked up from the bargain shop (in craft section). I actually dyed these simply using some edicol water paint ...but i have also seen coloured 

ones in the shops!

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. 
منذ زمن بعيد ولى...كان هناك شجرة تفاح في غاية الضخامة...

These Earth Science Experiments use fresh eggs for a fun and easy science activity. In this experiment you will learn how eggs can actually float in water instead of sinking. After getting your eggs to float you will try floating an egg between fresh and salty water.
